    Question: On the ad listing form, what is the 'Publish Now' check box for?

Your ad stays unpublished until you are ready for everyone to see it.     Question: On the ad listing form, what is the 'Auto Confirm Option' for?  
    Answer:

Each booking that customers make to your ad needs to be confirmed by you. This tells your customer that you are available and willing to hire the item or do the job. Selecting this option will automatically confirm each booking as it is made, and saves you logging in and confirming bookings manually...   >>More

 
   

    Question: On the ad listing form, what is the 'Auto Relist Option' for?  
    Answer:

Selecting this option automatically republishes your ad when it expires, (after 3, 6 or 12 months) ensuring that you get the maximum continuity and exposure.

 
   

    Question: I want to list remedial massage at $45 for a standard 1 hour session. I'm trying to use the "Fixed Cost Per Booking" option down the bottom of the form, but it keeps telling me that "At least one Pricing Period must be selected"  
    Answer:

"Fixed Cost Per Booking" option down the bottom of the form is used to specify an additional cost that is added to each booking your customers make e.g. Insurance, Cleaning Fee, Call out Fee, Delivery Fee.

    Question: We rent out tools and want to use the 'Available Times' to display our opening hours, but this option only appears when I choose a Service listing. It doesn't appear for rental item listings... how come?  
    Answer:

The 'Available Times' option allows you to restrict the times when bookings for a service can be made e.g. 10am to 4pm, Saturday and Sundays. Customers will not be able to book you outside the hours you choose here.

    Question: I do mobile car detailing and each job takes around 2 hours. What is the best way to set up a 'Time per Booking' on my listing?  
    Answer:

You can set a standard booking time of 2 hours under 'Available Times' on the listing editing form in 'My Serento'.     Question: When I put a distance limit on bookings to my ads is that the distance by road or 'as the crow flies'?

The 'Distance Limit' option lets advertisers limit bookings to customers in their local area (a radius around your address).     Question: What's the key words option all about. Why would I put them into my listing?  
    Answer:

    Question: I've got a couple of pictures I've taken I want to add to my listing do I need to resize them or anything?  
    Answer:

You can re size to make them load faster for your viewers, but it is not necessary. Our system will display your images at just the right size on your ad. You can use .jpeg files straight from your camera or .gif files.

    Question: Hey, I rent out surfboards and charge less during the week than on weekends. How do I set up my ads to raise rates on the weekend and hire the boards out in three hour blocks?

One of the options under 'Price Structure' on the listing form for rental items (but not for services) is 'Weekly".     Question: Hi, I hire out camper vans and we charge different pricing depending on the season. Does your site have a seasonal pricing function?  
    Answer:

Yes, 'Seasonal' is one of the options under 'Price Structure' on the listing form for rental items (but not for services). This option allows you to set different rental prices for different times of year e.g. School holidays, ski season or Christmas. Note; It only allows a single 'per day' price.

 
   

    Question: I install car radios and for a standard head unit always charge the same fixed price of $79.00. How would I put a price on my advert?  
    Answer:

For services, one of the 'Pricing Structure' options on the listing edit form (serento.com.au/useradedit.aspx) is 'Fixed Price'.  Here you can to set a Fixed Price of $79.00 for each stereo install booking.

 
   

    Question: I rent my camping gear out for three days at a time (weekends) but this isn't an option under 'Pricing Structure - Periodic' on the listing page/form, what do I do?

We'd suggest that you price your items per single day, and then if you want, you can make a standard 'Time per Booking' of 3 days. This way people will only be able to book in 3 day blocks.     Question: I'm stuck on pricing my listing, I just want to put up the ad for $35 per hour. How do I do that?  
    Answer:

One of the 'Pricing Structure' options on the listing edit form (serento.com.au/useradedit.aspx) is 'Periodic' or pricing 'per time period'. Select the 1hr check box and enter 35.00 on the right... done. If you want you could also add a different price for 4hrs or 24hrs etc.

 
   

    Question: I'm composing my ad listing and just wondered why the form displays my address details and phone number?

These fields let you put in a different address and number from the address saved in your profile. If your business has more than one location (or several mobile units) you can duplicate your ad and change locations and phone numbers here.     Question: I'm on the Edit/Add New Listing page choosing a category... My ad doesn't come under any of the categories on the form, what do I do?  
    Answer:

Email and tell us what you want to advertise and we’ll suggest or add a category for you.

 
   

    Question: I'm on the Edit/Add New Listing page choosing a category... My ad fits into two categories on the listing form  
    Answer:

Using the 'Select Operation' menu on the 'My Listings' page (serento.com.au/userad.aspx) duplicate your ad, this produces an identical ad ready to list. Now change the category in the new one and publish both ads.

 
   

    Question: How do add a longer title to my ad? I'm on the Edit/Add New Listing page and can't seem to add more than 8-9 words in the text box.  
    Answer:

The title box only allows a maximum of 55 characters including spaces. If you want to add more words so that people can find your listing, you can use the 'Keywords' field.     Question: How do I know if I'm selling a 'Service' or a 'Rental item'? I'm on the Edit/Add New Listing page and can figure out which to choose on the form...  
    Answer:

With rental items, only the use of goods or equipment is being sold, where as a service usually involves a person (or person + equipment) selling their time.
So for example, a Budget hire car would be a rental item, but a stretch limo with a driver would be a service.

 
   

    Question: How much does it cost to advertise on Serento?  
    Answer:

Very little... after you register, you can display listings on Serento, each at only 2c per day (+gst), or $1.86 for 3 months advertising!
